Guilty Clothes Or Guilty Freedom

Recently I came across one video while scrolling Facebook feed, which was purely based on the term "Guilty Clothes" Fashion Show

I never knew clothes too are guilty or  we should be guilty of clothes. What is this all about. I tap on a video, and the very first thing I observe through the sub titles that this fashion show is based on seductive clothes. Every viewer in the fashion show was eagerly waiting for the models to get on the ramp with some sexy clothes, that lustful grin faces or what it was they were more excited. Projector in the fashion show was placed which displayed sexy models with sexy clothes, and everyone was waiting for the climax.
Dim lights fall in, the tick tock of the stilettos getting more audible, and there were the models.
Oh wait, no sound nothing, felt weird, but what happen to the models, they all dressed up like a normal girls, but the show was all about seductive clothes?

Models walked with full denims, casual tee-s, long shrug, shirts, skirts and stood in a queue. Viewers started mumbling and few look astonished. Just within a few seconds, lights fall out and the very first thing happened was a slide asking
"Was it erotic?, Was it revealing? or provocative "

Guess Not,

And the projector run a video of rape victims, where girls spoke what they were wearing when they were raped.
They said they were wearing normal clothes, one said she was raped while returning from the office, and she was in her formal pant and a shirt. Another said as she was having a holiday she was in her track pants and vest top with a really very thin green cardigan, and still she was raped, it was not revealing anything she cried.
Other girls were also wearing normal clothes, yet rape happened. This fashion show was actually based on the clothing collection based on real stories of sexual violence.

Victims started to hate themselves, some shredded badly, one started drinking heavily, some dealing with mental trauma, never going out alone, never trusting a stranger.
There are 85% of women who experience sexual violence  never contacted help centers.

Do you think The Clothes are guilty and this is the reason why this women were raped?, Women are Guilty? or The Rapist?

We always blame rape victims, because we think that their clothes were inappropriate, but its not clothes, its The Rapist.

I found this video very connecting and powerful that I decided to share it with one of my male friend.
Watching the whole video, he said its nice.
"Nice?" I replied with an utter shock, do you think this message deserves just a comment like Nice?

He with a very ease said me this all looks good in media, but in reality inappropriate clothes are the reasons of why rape happens.
I asked him to explain me with more detail, as to how rape are connected with "INAPPROPRIATE CLOTHES".

He began with a very simple example, imagine that you are regularly visiting your tuition class and right exactly in front of your tuition there is a "Pan shop (Pan ka galla)" and everyday few group of boys sit there.
Few boys see you visiting frequently at your classes and you are always dressed up beautifully, and that is but obvious going to catch their eyes on you. You visit your classes with very sexy dresses like shorts, deep neckline tees and what so ever, for 10 days and on the 11th day you visit the class with a long bhurkha. The one who has noticed you, will know who is under that bhurkha, and  one day a guy from that group may be heavily drunk or may have consumed some aphrodisiac food, will have your physic in his mind and if he finds you, and a vacant place, none can help you and you became the victim of rape. You were totally unknown about that guy, but one who rapes are not unknown, and at that moment nothing matters what you are wearing, as they have observed you everyday.

So this is what I get to hear from a well educated guy, where still people think rape happens because of clothes.

I tried to explain, if this is the case, then women are not free to wear anything, to that his answer was I didn't say that, women should not wear what they wish, but they should not showoff their body which can provoke a guy. Again I fell unsatisfied with his answer, so I started to explain him.

If this is the case, then we are not educating our son into the right direction. It began from the family where we should cultivate a proper education about girl's respect. We should always focus on our boys, than that of our girls, what we all do is we keep educating girls what to wear, how to wear, with whom to talk, where to go, but we never put any effort to teach this things to a boy.
Its we who never think to teach a guy into such direction, its always a girl  who is being taught. Why, Are girls not a human?
Even girls do see a man with shorts, roaming shirtless and fearless, but girls are never lustful about it, because of the guidance they have been given. From childhood we don't make our girls fearless, we don't allow them to follow their choices as we allow a boy.

After getting into a very healthy conversation about this with my friend, I see that he still thinks its clothes and rape won't be stop by giving such kind of guidance. I wonder if such an educated person can talk like this, god knows about uneducated.

Please stop telling that rape happens because of Guilty clothes, it happens because Inappropriate education passed to a guy which takes away a Women's Freedom to dress and to live.
